Amal Neerad has completed the shoot of hisAnwar with the shoot of a song on the lead pair Prithviraj and Mamta in never seen before (in Malayalam) locales of Kullu Manali. The film is set against the background of terrorism and Prithviraj is said to be playing the role of a terrorist in the film. Prakash Raj plays the role of a cop who heads the anti-terrorist wing, while Lal plays an influential Muslim politician. Sai Kumar, Salim Kumar and others are also in the cast. Gopi Sundar is said to have provided some great melodies based on Hindusthani classical tunes with lyrics written by Rafeek Ahmed. Anwar is produced by Raj Zacharias and distributed by the new company Red Carpet Company and was scheduled to release on July 2. But since the post production work on the movie could not be completed on schedule, the film will now release only for Perunal (Ramzan) on September 10. Mamta Mohandas to sing for Thriller!
Mamta Mohandas is going to sing a song for Prithviraj’s B Unnikrishnan directed Thriller, under the baton of Tamil music director Dharan. The film is based on the recent controversial Paul Muthoot murder case which shocked Kerala. Prithviraj plays ACP Niranjan who is put in charge of the investigation. The others in the cast are Jagathy, Siddiq, Lalu Alex and Saikumar Though no leading lady has been signed for the film, Mamta may do a cameo with the song she sings to be picturised on her. Director Unnikrishnan is planning a music video for the film’s television promotion. Pritviraj's Thanthonni cut to size!
Prithviraj’s Thanthonni has been cut by 15 minutes after release! The film's length has been reduced to make it a bit more racy. The trouble with Thanthonniis that the director George Vargheese has etched it from several earlier films of Mohanlal. This has led to comparisons among the fans which has put the young actor in an embarrassing situation. The film which was crucial for Prithvi is pretty lukewarm at the Kerala box-office. Now with Ghost House Inn and Pramani releasing next week, it will be a uphill task for Prithviraj’s Thanthonni to fight the battle at the box-office. Anwar Rasheed with Prithvi
Young star Prithviraj who has given a green signal for a dozen new projects has given a positive nod to one more big project. Superhit director Anwar Rasheed with an impressive track record of hatrick superhits will call the shots to the new Prithviraj Movie tentatively titled as ‘Vei Raja Vei’. To be scripted by Benny P Nayarambalam, the movie will be a colourful thriller laced with plenty of humour. ‘Vei Raja Vai’ will get into sets much before many projects of Prithviraj which are presently in the preproduction stages. He has even surprised his critics with the short film 'Bridge' which was rated the best in the 'Kerala Cafe- a collection of short movies'. Jayaram and Prithviraj are together!
It is the season of multi starrers in Malayalam cinema. Director Shafi is bringing Jayaram and Prithviraj together in Makeup Man, a comedy riot produced by leading production manager turned producer M Ranjith of Rajaputra Films. Lakshmi Rai has been signed up as one of the heroines, and Shafi is on the lookout for another heroine. Sachi-Sethu (Chocolate fame) has written the script of this film which has Jayaram playing the role of a makeup man in films. The others in the cast are Innocent, Suraj Venjaranmoodu and Salim Kumar. The shoot of the film will start from April first week.

Thanthonni Vs Nayakan-brothers for a duel
The weekend will feature the Box Office clash between the films of two star brothers of Mollywood-Prithviraj and Indrajith. While Prithvi will make his first release of the year tomorrow in ‘Thanthonny’, Indrajith will present his big movie as an action hero ‘Nayakan’ in the same weekend. ‘Thanthonny’ directed by George Varghese has been in the news for its techno savvy making and its posters claiming the arrival of the new generation hero. The posters feature Prithvi in two faces, giving reminiscences of the characters like what Superstar Mohanlal played in his hit movie ‘Ustadh’. Scripted by T A Shahid, the movie has Sheela Kaul as the heroine. A couple of the songs of the movie were shot outside India. The other highlights includes the brilliantly choreographed action sequences and a song rendered by Prithvi. The Indrajith movie ‘Nayakan’ is directed by young director Lijo Jose Pellissery, the son of late comedian Jose Pelliserry. The movie presents Indrajith as a multifaceted character named Varadan who is on a revenge spree. The movie is said to offer Indrajith a lot of space to prove his acting capabilities. While ‘Thanthonny’ goes for a wide release ‘Nayakan’ will make a limited release. A busy Vishu in Mollywood
This Vishu will be one of the busiest seasons for the Mollywood movie viewers and film buffs. The season will see the release of at least dozen films, which is sure to cause a fight for release centres for smaller films. The first to get to theatres will be Prithvi's ‘Thanthonny’ which stands scheduled for this 18. Lal's ‘In Ghost House Inn' will get into theatres by the 25th of March. Mammooty's ‘Pramaani’ will be the wide release scheduled to be in theatres by the 26th of this month. The weekend just before Vishu will have many multi-starrers including Mohanlal –Suresh Gopi movie ‘Janakan’, Viji Thampi's ‘April Fool’, Kalabhavan Mani's ‘Pulliman’, Shebi Chavakkad's ‘Plus Two’, Dileep's 'Pappy Appacha' and Mohanlal's 'Alexander The Great'. Anyway it's sure that Malayalee film viewers will be having a hectic time, attending all these movies coming up in gap of two weeks.
