“If the government is not taking adequate action against those who are denying me jobs, I am planning to start an agitation before the house of the State cultural minister, M A Baby. And if the agitation doesn't prove useful, I am even ready to go to the extent of committing suicide”, threatened veteran actor Thilakan. ''I am planning to bring to the notice of various organs of government, the continuous job denial practiced against me by various organisations in show business. At present I am accumulating sufficient proofs so that I can satisfactorily prove my case'', adds the agitated actor. Thilkan is expected to join the sets of 'Achchan' by Ali Akbar, in which he will be donning the central role, by the end of this month.

Amma expels Thilakan for life!
Thilakan has been expelled from the Association of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA) for life! His membership of the association was revoked after he appeared before its executive committee on Monday (April 5) in Kochi. Thilakan refused to apologise for the comments and criticism that he made about AMMA and its members. Following this, the organization was forced to expel him. Innocent, president of AMMA, said: “We were forced to take action against him as we have to maintain the decorum of the organisation as Thilakan stuck to his allegations and was not willing for any kind of compromise. However AMMA made it clear that the ban would have no effect on Thilakan’s acting career and members of the association had no reservation in acting along with him. Thilakan as usual went on the overdrive and raved and ranted about AMMA and its members. Thilakan also complained that he was denied justice at the meeting, adding that he was insulted after being invited for presenting his case and the decision to expel him was predetermined. Rajat Kapoor replaces Thilakan
Dam 999, a English film produced and directed by NRI Sohan Roy has been in the news for the wrong reasons. After Thilakan was removed from the film, a compensation of Rs 7 lakhs had to be paid to him. Now the latest we hear is that .Bollywood actor and model Rajath Kapoor has replaced Thilakan in Dam 999. The movie is directed by Sohan Roy. Buzz is that Rajath has already started shooting for the film. Another new addition to the film is Thampi Antony, whose performance in Sufi Paranja Katha, has been critically appreciated. Thampy will be joining the next schedule of the film in Hyderabad in May. Mammootty to take a break!
Megastar Mammootty has been having a torrid time this year after the colossal failure of Drona and Thilakan’s wild accusations against him. Mammootty the cool guy that he is, did not get into a slanging match with Thilakan, though the veteran actor tried to needle him unnecessarily. Now leaving all that behind, Mammootty is going to take a one month break, where he will just chill out. He wants to keep his holiday plans under the wrap. The star is pinning a lot of hope on his two summer releases. B Unnikrishnan directed Pramani will release first on March 26. The film is said to have shaped out well and after a long time you can see Mammootty doing a role with negative shades. Five weeks later his multi starrer Pokkiri Raja is scheduled for release on April 30. It is a mass action film with Prithviraj and Shriya doing the supporting roles. തിലകന് ‘അമ്മ’യുടെ സസ്പെന്ഷന്
നടന് തിലകനെ ചലച്ചിത്ര താരസംഘടനയായ ‘അമ്മ’യില് നിന്ന് സസ്പെന്ഡ് ചെയ്തു. ഇന്നു ചേര്ന്ന ‘അമ്മ’ അച്ചടക്കസമിതി യോഗത്തിലാണ് തീരുമാനം. പ്രഥമദൃഷ്ട്യാ തിലകനെ അംഗത്വ അവകാശങ്ങളില് നിന്ന് മാറ്റിനിര്ത്തുകയാണെന്ന് അമ്മ അച്ചടക്കസമിതി അധ്യക്ഷന് ടി പി മാധവന് അറിയിച്ചു. തിരുവനന്തപുരത്ത് ‘അമ്മ’ അച്ചടക്കസമിതിയുടെ തീരുമാനങ്ങള് മാധ്യമപ്രവര്ത്തകരെ അറിയിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു അദ്ദേഹം.
മാര്ച്ച് എട്ടാം തീയതിക്കു മുമ്പായി തിലകന് അമ്മയ്ക്കു മറുപടി നല്കണമെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു. തിലകന്റെ പരസ്യപ്രസ്താവനകള് അസഹനീയമാണെന്ന് യോഗം വിലയിരുത്തി. പ്രശ്നങ്ങള് അമ്മയുടെ വേദിയില് തിലകന് ഇതുവരെ അവതരിപ്പിച്ചിട്ടില്ലെന്ന് ‘അമ്മ’ പ്രസിഡന്റ് ഇന്നസെന്റ് പറഞ്ഞു.
തിലകന് സഹകരിക്കാതെ പ്രശ്നങ്ങള് അവസാനിപ്പിക്കാനാകില്ല. നടന്മാര്ക്ക് അവസരങ്ങള് കുറയുന്നത് സ്വാഭാവികമാണെന്നും ഇന്നസെന്റ് പറഞ്ഞു. സുകുമാര് അഴീക്കോടിനെക്കുറിച്ച് താന് പറഞ്ഞതെല്ലാം സത്യമാണെന്നും അഴീക്കോടിന്റെ വിമര്ശനങ്ങളില് അദ്ഭുതമില്ലെന്നും ഇന്നസെന്റ് പറഞ്ഞു. ഇടവേള ബാബു, ജനാര്ദ്ദനന് എന്നിവരും വാര്ത്താസമ്മേളനത്തില് പങ്കെടുത്തു.
Thilakan suspended from AMMA
The disciplinary committee of AMMA that met today, decided to temporarily suspend veteran actor Thilakan from AMMA. The committee found his rash remarks unpardonable and also sited that he deliberately avoided coming before the committee today to give an explanation on the issue.
AMMA president Innocent also asked Thilakan to appear before the committee before this eighth to give a detailed explanation or else will be suspended from the organisation permanently. Innocent also observed that it is natural for actors to lose offers. More over the actor has never used the platform of the organization to lodge his complaint before going public and making defamatory statements against everyone.
Idavela Babu and Janardhanan were also with Innocent at the press meeting called to announce Thilakan's suspension.
